- עֲקֵי(v. עוּק) to press, narrow in, embarrass. Gen. R. s. 49 מן דהוה חמי ההיא עקתא דהוה עָקֵי ליה (not מאן) when he saw the dilemma in which he (Abraham) had placed him.
